Hello Im new to selling on ebay and Im confused about my invoice for selling fees. I only listed 11 items in July and I was charged 3.93 in insertion fees. I was under the impression that you allowed 50 free listings per month and I am no where near 50. Most of the items are clothing with the exception of 2 could someone explain why i was charged Did I read the rules wrong or what should i do differently
I've sold an item for £460 plus £20 postage I recieved £463 from the buyer and assumed the remainder had gone to eBay now eBay are asking for £48 which is what is stated as the selling fee, 10% of the sale including postage costs.
if £17 has already been taken why are eBay still asking for the full 10% any help would be appreciated.
While I expected to pay a fee for selling items on eBay the total number of fees have gotten ridiculous. I'm sure someone will jump all over me for saying that, but as a first time seller I found the entire processes to be deliberately unclear as to what I would be charged, when, and how. $746 in just eBay FEES alone to sell 5 items!? I lost a lot of money with the way the site automatically calculated shipping incorrectly and when I finally figured out what was going on I wasn't able to change things. I'm disputing $100 of these fees because I simply made a mistake on the site and getting horrible and unreasonable customer service. Then .. oh boy .. more fees from PayPal! Are you kidding me?! What does eBay do with all this money? They certainly don't seem to invest it into security since I was getting scam emails several times a day. This truly has been a horrific experience so far and I fear it's still not over. My biggest complaint is that this all could be avoided but the site appears to be designed to be misleading.
