I am a bit frustrated with the updated top rated seller discount ebay is rolling out on May 1, 2017. They are lowering the final value fee discount from 20% to 10% and say they are compensating for the lower discount by providing a $30 promotional listing credit every quarter. Since the quarter begins on January, April, July and October that means top rated sellers will not see the $30 credit for at least two months until after their final value discount fee has been lowered. Am I correct in understanding this? The ebay representative I spoke with over the phone seemed to agree with me that we are left empty handed for two months while our discounts are lowered. Why would ebay implement the reduction in discount in May instead of July when we could get the $30 credit? I can only assume that they purposely did it so they could increase profits without having to compensate the seller. Please let me know if you agree with me on this.
