I am a bit frustrated with the updated top rated seller discount ebay is rolling out on May 1, 2017. They are lowering the final value fee discount from 20% to 10% and say they are compensating for the lower discount by providing a $30 promotional listing credit every quarter. Since the quarter begins on January, April, July and October that means top rated sellers will not see the $30 credit for at least two months until after their final value discount fee has been lowered. Am I correct in understanding this? The ebay representative I spoke with over the phone seemed to agree with me that we are left empty handed for two months while our discounts are lowered. Why would ebay implement the reduction in discount in May instead of July when we could get the $30 credit? I can only assume that they purposely did it so they could increase profits without having to compensate the seller. Please let me know if you agree with me on this.
Hi, I signed up for the promotional offer in June where I can sell and only pay $20 in final value fees. I just received my statement for June and do not see any of the credits and got chaged all of the final value fees.
When do I receive the credits? The promotional details says 30 days after the period ends, but I just want to make sure I qualified. Thanks.
What is the Promotion?
I didn't sell much at all this month, total dud, but my fees went up drastically. I downloaded the fees and promotional credit spreadsheet for 1/1/2015 thru 1/31/2015 and there was no credit for the 50 free listings or the 20% top seller discount for final value fees. There was a $0.30 per item listing credit fee for the measelly 27 items that sold, but other than that, ALL my listings were charged the full fee. I looked at the message boards and haven't seen anyone else with this issue. I just tried calling eBAy and the recording said that there was an "emergency shut down" of eBay, sorry for the inconvenience and then I got a dial tone.
Because I didn't question the fees, I went ahead and made a one time payment (sometimes I do that so I'll know how much I can spend in my paypal account). I was so sticker shocked by the increase that I finally succumbed to paying for the basic store for $15.95 per month. Lo and behold, new fees started the very day I joined the store. I used to get free scheduled listings on ALL listings up until the day I bought a store. Now they charge $0.10 per scheduled item.
ANYONE OUT THERE experiencing this?
