Someone used my email address to open an Ebay account. I blocked email associated with this user and apparently blocked all email from ebay in the process. I tried to purchase something from ebay as a guest and used this same email address. I comlpeted the purchase but I never received a confirmation email, apparently because it was blocked. I since used my email address to change the ebay password of the other user, so now I can access ebay. Is there any way to retrieve the confirmation email related to my recent purchase?
A buyer today paid me for 2 items (2 transactions) within 3 minutes of each other. He has 2 different user IDs, one for each transaction, but the PayPal transaction details show he uses the same full name, address, & email. His IDs read like random period(s)-separated letters & numbers, and they have 0 feedback & were created today (or yesterday, depending on your time zone), the day of the purchase. Each of his IDs is clickable & takes me to what looks like any other profile, except these have 0 feedback, 0 comments, & states:
“Based in United States, [his user ID] has been an eBay member since Oct 24, 2017”
Does the “…been an eBay member since…” imply this is registered?
I know everyone starts at 0 feedback, but I’m concerned about whether he registered for 2 accounts on the same day as the purchase. How can I know if these are registered accounts or guest accounts? eBay Help’s “Buying as a guest” page states:
“You can buy without an eBay account when…The seller has a Feedback score of 50 or higher…”
But I currently have less than 50 feedback, yet he was able to purchase from me with both. Does this imply both accounts are registered?
If these are guest accounts, why would eBay generate 2 different IDs within 3 minutes for the same person at the same address & email? When did eBay stop enforcing the above quote?
Hello, I've encountered some issues in buying over the last few days. I tried to order a pro-controller from a buyer recently. It came, but the products box was damaged (down the middle like something heavy landed on it or was on top of it) I keep my boxes after opening the items since I'm collector and display them. I asked for an exchange for the same item, they told me to initiate a refund (I tried to select exchange, but it said the buyer is a paypal guest member so it wouldn't process) I did the refund expecting to have to buy the same item back after the return was processed, but instead they blocked me (I guess?) so I can't buy the item again nor can I contact them to even ask why the exchange option wasn't possible when it's listed on their store-front that they do exchanges or why they forced me in to a refund option in the first place. I've contacted eBay customers service, but they didn't offer much help.
I've tried to buy the same item from two other people and I get the same message "The seller isn't accepting bids or offers from you." and I can't contact them, so what do I do now? What's the point of having an option to block someone from buying your products if you can't even message them for assistance? I don't think it's unfair or reasonable to ask for an exchange (and was forced to refund instead) for a moderately damaged box for a collectible item since the contents may be damaged inside and because the description labeled it as new "Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag."
Like I said, I'm a collector espeically for games - I don't just rip open the box and toss it in the trash, I keep them. I know there's garbage scammers and the like out there, but I just wanted a decent looking non-damaged item. Corner wear (brunted corners) I would've been fine with, but it looks like someone layed a heavy object directly down the middle of the one I recieved which, to me, would indicate potential damage.
If my name was added to some "seller-beware" list I'd be a little annoyed, since that ruins a lot of my buying experience for something, so small without any notice. I've been buying on ebay for 7 years now and this is the first time I've ever recieved a product with a damaged box like that (that wasn't outlined in the condition of the available item in the description) as well as the only time I've been met with such a hostile approach. Is there any way to resolve this?
